I had a few ideas for art-related resolutions this year. I thought about creating an animated short story, or committing to a set number of birthday/holiday cards to send out to friends. But everything feels like it’s in a state of unpredictable flux right now, and that’s not a state my creativity thrives in.
But I’m making an effort to keep creating art, just to keep the gears from rusting out. Here are a couple of frolicking orcas.

This last apartment move threw my holiday organizing into disarray, but I promise next year I’ll get my Christmas cards finished in time!

I never did warm up to that last Christmas card design. I finally just came up with a whole new design.
I’m digging this one. But now here we are in December, and it seems unlikely that I will finish it in time to print up cards and get them mailed out for Christmas. This last move pretty much took over a month of our lives, at just the wrong time for keeping up with holiday schedules.
No sketch last week. We relocated to a bigger apartment closer to where Luke and I work, and I did not have a single brain cell left over for art creation.
This week I tinkered with the Christmas card some more, but I don’t really like how it’s turning out. I may go with a completely different design.
An Invincible Summer
