Sampler Saturday: Needlework

This is a design I appliqued onto a pillowcase as a Christmas gift for Elizabeth, using scraps of cloth and embroidery thread I had lying around:

It’s the first time I’ve ever done a project like that; I was surprised at how long it took to finish. A gazillion tiny stitches = several weeks, who knew?

Elizabeth’s room is gradually transforming into a sea of magenta. Not sure what we’re going to do with it all when she finally outgrows Espio. Is this the sort of thing one hands down to grandchildren?

    Great job Deb!
Heh, I don’t think she’ll ever outgrow Espio.. nt to the point where she’ll get rid of all that. Her color choices might change but the special stuff will stay with her for always.

You’re probably right. Come to think of it, she’ll probably invite Footprints, Dialga and Espio to her wedding someday.

Hope you’re keeping warm, I hear it’s snowy in your neck of the woods today.

  2. Whoa, amazing. It looks like you are a seasoned pro at this. And it doesn’t look like you drew any blood, which would be the main difference if I attempted this.

There was blood, I was just really careful not to get any on the project. I have new respect for seamstresses — needlework is freaking perilous!
